DIY: How to Change a Toilet Flapper
If you currently have a toilet that is using too much water or you hear spooky phantom flushes, your problem may be a faulty flapper. Follow the video below or these points to effectively change a flapper.
- Shut off water supply to the toilet.
- Flush the toilet until there is barely any water in the tank.
- Gently remove the flapper by pulling off each side that is attached to the hush tube.
- Remove the chain from the handle and remove the old flapper.
- Ensure the new flapper is designed for your toilet.
- Match the length of the chain with the old flapper.
- Place flapper in its correct position and attach it to the hush tube.
- Reattach the chain to the handle.
- Turn back on water supply.
- Test.
